For Corporate Partners

Corporate projects & mentorship are integral components in this programme to allow PWDs opportunities to further develop their skills & gain accelerated business experience. We are actively seeking corporate partners to provide such opportunities. 

What Corporate Projects Are We Looking For?

Topics

Ideally includes digital aspects that allow PWDs to learn & make use of digital skills. It can be new product / service development, or an improvement of existing products / services.

Deliverables

Participants grouped in the teams will deliver the agreed-upon output to the corporate sponsor & also present their project at the demo day towards the programme’s end.

Engagements

A minimum of three touchpoints.

  • At the commencement of the accelerator programme to brief the project team & set expectations;
  • A midway check-in for the team to update on their progress;
  • At the project’s conclusion for the team to present to the sponsor, as well as to participate in demo day.

Note: Corporate project sponsors do not need to provide working space for the teams.

Who Will Work on The Projects?

Participants will be selected mainly from Temasek Polytechnic students who will be graduating in May 2021. Recent Temasek Polytechnic alumni seeking digital roles will also be considered. Here are some sample personas:

Persona 1: Zee

Academic Background

  • Diploma in Information Technology
  • School of Informatics and Information Technology, Temasek Polytechnic
  • Graduating in March 2021

Profile Summary

Zee is a student who has studied UXID on mobile and web application, Firebase, MongoDB & networking technology. He is also proficient with Autodesk 3Ds Max, Adobe Animate & Adobe XD. This was evident in the distinction obtained for 3D modelling module in his Higher Nitec.

For final year project in his diploma, he participated in the development of a school app that culminated in its launch in October 2020. Currently, he is interning in an IT company & designing an app to improve internal HR processes. He is also interested in animation & game design.

Disability

Zee has some challenge in motor & mobility (limping with jump gait, & typing single-handed with left hand). He is able to complete the tasks well & has better speech clarity when sufficient time is given. Exercising patience & the use of more written communication would help his communication at work.

Persona 2: June

Academic Background

  • Diploma in Financial Business Informatics
  • School of Informatics and Information Technology, Temasek Polytechnic
  • Graduating in May 2021

Profile Summary

June is a self-motivated final year student & has twice been awarded the Director’s List award. Her passion is in Banking and Digital Finance. Currently, she is interning in a company providing financial software & risk solutions. Her main tasks include data compilation & presentation of market data for the oil and gas industry. She is also assisting with developing a dashboard &  automating data using Visual Basic for Applications. She is keen to take on score be recruited as another internship in a financial institution, focusing on digitalisation & and data analysis of business data.

Disability

June acquired mild hearing loss when she was 12 years old. She doesn’t wear hearing aids & needs preferential seating. At times, she also may require people to speak louder.

Persona 3: Ace

Academic Background

  • Diploma in Business in the Banking & Finance elective
  • School of Business, Temasek Polytechnic
  • Graduating in March 2021

Profile Summary

Ace is a passionate & energetic third-year student who aspires to be a fund manager, which requires him to improve his analytical skills on a daily basis. Currently, he is having his internship with a bank.

Disability

He was diagnosed with Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON) in both eyes since the age of 10. He uses a handheld magnifier to read hard-copy notes. He is able to write &  perform work on his personal laptop independently.
